A Single Market for Green Products

Positions
9 Apr 2013

Today, the Commission released its long-awaited Communication on a Single Market for Green Products and a recommendation on the proposed methodologies for Product and Organisation Environmental Footprinting.

AIM is supportive of the Commission’s approach for a single EU wide methodology to protect the Single Market, making the point to the Commission that “the pilot phase should make sure that the objectives can be met through adequate, resource efficient, and consumer relevant tools, securing also its international relevance and not undermining the competitiveness of the EU industry”.

This support and caution were part of a joint statement to the Commission by AIM, FoodDrink Europe, AISE and Cosmetics Europe before the release of the document on 22 March.
