AIM, the European Brands Association, co-signed a joint industry letter on the Digital Services Act (DSA), together with +80 other companies and industry groups, urging EU lawmakers to extend the Know Your Business Customer (KYBC) obligations – limited to online marketplaces in the Commission’s proposal – to all hosting providers for the DSA to offer a meaningful tool for tackling illegal activities and products online.

In their joint letter, signatories emphasise that sticking to the Commission’s limited approach on KYBC would represent a missed opportunity to address the broad range of illegal content and counterfeit, unsafe, non-compliant and substandard products online.
