As part of the Digital Consumer Information Alliance (DCIA), AIM and twenty-one other consumer-facing economic operators are calling on EU policymakers to for a coordinated approach on product information by digital means that would work for all: consumers and economic operators alike.
The absence of an overarching legal framework presents challenges for businesses, such as inconsistencies that could be avoided via the adoption of digital information. This also benefits the consumer. With e-labelling, consumers will have access to more extensive information, in their own language, and in a more accessible format.
This coalition calls upon the European Commission to support the development of a harmonised legislative framework that integrates digital labelling as a reliable and environmentally conscious alternative to physical labeling.
